In nineteen twenty-one, the Liege painter in watercolours,
Francois D... (1874-1925) felt himself so misunderstood that he decided
that, in future, he would find a relacement for his usual, scornful public,
one more appreciative of his talent.
That's how he came to display exclusively the remainder of his work as
background paintings in acquariums containing exotic fish, the only true
connoisseurs, in his eyes, of the perceptible world of water and colour.
In order to correctly appreciate the different reactions of the fish
to his work, Francois D... was led to develope such a detailed study
that, at the present moment, while his painting still doesn't seem deserving
of the slightest interest, his essay entitled An Interpretation of Sub-marine
Emotional Currents continues nonetheless to hold the attention of numerous
specialists.
